Setting one up

- Write the recovery phrase on paperIf you made a full wallet you will be shown a list of words. That list is the wallet. Anyone holding it holds your funds, and nobody - not Kukai, not teia.cafe - can recover it for you. Write it down offline and keep it somewhere you would keep a passport.

Three rules worth keeping
Your recovery phrase is the wallet. Not a password, not a backup code - the words themselves are the money. Nobody can reissue them, and anyone who reads them owns everything in the wallet. Written on paper, offline, is still the best answer.
Nobody legitimate will ever ask for it. Not teia.cafe, not the Teia DAO, not a helpful stranger in a Discord. Every single person who asks is stealing from you, without exception.
Read what you are signing. This platform asks you to sign a login message to prove wallet ownership. That message does not authorize a payment or cost a network fee. Check the site and message before signing. A transaction is a separate request: review its destination, amount and fees before you approve it.
