This is a very special drop for me. I am on the board of Friends of SJF which supports some initiatives in Haiti (I had a chance to visit some on one of my trips to Haiti). Vilner is one of the kids we help support, and this is his beautiful art.
About Vilner:
Vilner is one of the talented young artists whose skills are being encouraged and developed in the arts classes at Wings of Hope in Jacmel, Haiti. Vilner has physical disabilities which make it difficult to draw and paint, but he has a passion for art and always finds a way to express himself in beautiful ways on the canvas.
Wings of Hope is a home for children and adults with physical and mental challenges. Art has always been an essential way to show the residents the beauty of their country. And encouraging the residents to become artists themselves is a way to foster self-confidence in them.
Seeing beauty in your culture and being able to add to that beauty with your talent and passion are important lessons learned by those served by Wings of Hope.
*teia.cafe will prioritize playlist curators for online transactions, but the user may sync their wallet to become the "default curator" when the app is used in real-life or public settings. (This will update the QR links as well - if onlookers scan their phone when your wallet is sync'ed, it will identify your wallet as the curator as well.) If no wallet is present, it will fall back to teia.cafe's treasury wallet instead.
